How the ETO Sterilization Machine Works

The ETO sterilizer typically performs four main stages:

1. Preconditioning

• Controls temperature, humidity, and air circulation

• Raises product moisture and temperature to improve sterilization efficiency

2. ETO Gas Sterilization

• Chamber is vacuumed to remove air

• ETO gas (pure ETO or ETO mixed with CO₂/N₂) enters the chamber

• Gas penetrates packaging and kills microorganisms

• Process is controlled by PLC to ensure accurate pressure, temperature, and exposure time

3. Aeration (Gas Removal)

• After sterilization, multiple vacuum and ventilation cycles remove residual gas

• Ensures safe ETO concentration before unloading

4. Final Aeration Room (Optional)

• Some products require additional aeration in a separate chamber
